As Time Goes By

We are closing in on the halfway mark of my time here in Philadelphia. I can't believe that I have been here for three months. And I really can't believe that I only have three months left here. I feel like there is so much that I still want to see and do. I do miss Texas, my family, and friends, but I don't think I'm ready to move home just yet. I do have a lot planned for the next three months. I think every other weekend for at least the next 2 months I am going to be out of town to somewhere. I'll be going back to Texas a couple of times, I am going to DC to the Cherry Blossom Festival, I'm hoping to go see my cousin in New York City, and planning a trip to Atlantic City. The other weekends I'm just hoping to see all of the sights in Philadelphia. There' so much!

I'm super excited about this weekend though. I am (finally!) heading back to Texas. I am going to Austin to play in a softball tournament and couldn't be any more thrilled about it. Not only am I excited about just being in Texas, but I haven't played softball since November. One, because I moved to Philadelphia and left all of my stuff in Texas, but also because I had shoulder surgery in November. I haven't thrown a ball since then and I know I'm going to be quite rusty. Even though I was not the most compliant patient in doing my exercises, I feel pretty good about my shoulder since I've been working out with Lance. I really do feel like it's getting stronger. We will see if that's true this weekend!

Spring is on it's way here in Philly! This past weekend was absolutely gorgeous. Best weekend I've had in Philly yet! I went and played flag football with one of my students and had an awesome run Sunday morning. I love the spring. It's still cool in the morning and evening, but the sun is shining and it warms during the day. Fabulous! What I also love about spring is that it's the beginning of baseball season. And there's no better city to be in than Philadelphia for baseball season. The Phillies have a great schedule and I'm trying to make it to as many games as possible. I've already purchased tickets for the Red Sox game in May and I'm looking at buying tickets to the Nationals and Cubs games as well. I absolutely love watching baseball and sports in the east is so different than in Texas. The fans here are so passionate about their teams. Sometimes a little too much, but it just makes things a little more exciting.
