Since getting back from Texas, it's been pretty busy. Seeing as how we are halfway through the fellowship, we are getting more and more patients to treat. Yesterday my schedule was completely full. It's great, until the end of the day when you have all of those notes to do. I have to go in early today and try to finish them up.
These are a few of the splints I've been working on lately.
These are a couple of different static progressive splints. They are used if a person has difficulty flexing or extending their finger. They would wear this splint for about 30 min to an hour depending on their deformity.

I have a patient that had a distal radius fracture and can not, for the life of her, turn her palm up (supinate). So, I practiced a couple of splints to try on her. Hopefully something will work.

I am checking more and more things off my Philly To Do List. At some point I will post that. Last Friday, Jennifer, Jason, Ryan (surgery fellow), Kevin (surgery fellow), and myself went to the Flyers game. It was a lot of fun, even though Kevin was on call and ended up having to go in.

This weekend I am headed to Washington, D.C. My aunt and uncle live there and are letting me come and stay with them. I'm taking the Amtrak again and will be there in about 2 hours. So fast! Even though I was just there this past fall, I'm excited to walk around the city again and see what all I missed on my last trip. The weather should be awesome too!
